ABOUT DJ RON
Born & raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Ron Ward, also known as DJ Ron is a Hip Hop, R&B and Ol’ School DJ, Producer, Remixer, Distributor and Content Creator. A man of many hats and even more talent, DJ Ron is a veteran in the music industry and has the track record to prove it.
In his years as a DJ, Ron has had residences at the Big Easy Nightclub in New Orleans and Club Dreams in Baton Rouge. While at the Big Easy, DJ Ron influenced the careers of then upcoming artists such as Partners-N-Crime, Pimp Daddy, Mystikal, Sporty-T, DJ Jubilee, Cheeky Blackk, UNLV, PMW and a number of others. His spin skills and growing popularity made him one of the go-to club DJs for Cash Money Records at that time. While there, he used the Big Easy as a venue to host shows for many artists like Uncle Luke, for example.
During his residency at Club Dreams, DJ Ron helped introduce New Orleans music to the Baton Rouge club scene. There he continued to host shows at the venue with New Orleans artists like Mystikal, DJ Jubilee, Partners-N-Crime and UNLV taking the stage. He also hosted performances by even bigger national artists like Master P, UGK, Goodie Mob among others. Being from the Crescent City, Ron was the first to introduce the New Orleans Bounce to Baton Rouge. DJ Ron also hosted the “Drive at 5” mix for Chris Clay on KTBT 93.7 FM.
DJ Ron ultimately took his talents and experience to begin his own enterprise. In 2000 Ron started his entertainment company 2Infinity Digital Media under which he produced The Return on Mystikal’s certified platinum, Grammy nominated album Tarantula. Working with No Limit Records, DJ Ron also produced Hush for Master P’s platinum album Ghetto Postage, Too Much Noise for C-Murder’s certified Gold album Trapped in Crime, What you Know, and The Day After for Silk the Shocker’s My World, My Way album. Ron has also produced projects on R&B artists like Cara Jai (Former Miss Arizona), Us 3 (Ian Von, Tre Virdure and Gino Mclaughlin) and Baton Rouge’s rap artist Beezy Boy. From 2014 to early 2017 DJ Ron took to radio again to host “The Friday Night Jump Off”, a live open format mix-shot on Ivybe Radio (ivyberadio.com).
